I keep seeing ads for these new transfer apps. The fees seem lower, but does the money actually arrive on time?

I stopped using Western Union two years ago. The fees were killing me. TapTap Send or Sendwave is way faster, and they often give a promo code for extra credit on the recipient’s phone. Plus, my cousin gets it right on his MonCash wallet, so he doesn’t have to walk to the bureau with cash in his pocket. Much safer.

I like the app, but my grandma in Léogâne refuses to use MonCash. She wants the cash in her hand. For older people, Western Union is still king because they trust the paper receipt. I use TapTap for my little cousins, and WU for the elders.
