I grew up on Tabou Combo and System Band. I like the new vibe (Kai, Enposib), but sometimes I miss the heavy brass sections.

What is everyone listening to right now?

I try to listen to this ‘New Gen’ stuff my grandkids play in the car… Kai, Bedjine… but where are the instruments? It’s just synthesizer and auto-tune! Nothing beats the brass section of System Band or the guitar solo in a Tabou Combo track. That was *music*.

This new stuff is just noise to grind to. Prove me wrong.

Respectfully, Tonton, you have to evolve! The old school is legendary, yes, but the Gouyad era is what fills up the clubs in Miami right now. Look at what Arly (Nu Look) is doing. he bridges the gap perfectly. The young generation needs their own sound. You can’t dance stuck in 1988 forever lol.

I’m with Granmoun on this one. I was at a party last week and when they played ‘Tu as Volé’ the whole room sang. When they played the new stuff, everyone just checked their phones. Classics hit the soul differently.
