I have a 2018 Toyota RAV4 I want to send to my uncle. He needs it for his taxi business. But I keep hearing the gangs are controlling the terminal at Varreux again.

Has anyone cleared a car in the last 3 weeks? Which shipping line did you use?

Do not send to Port-au-Prince right now, chérie. It’s a lottery. My cousin’s container has been stuck in customs since October because the douane officers can’t get to work safely.

Better option: Send it to Cap-Haitien or St. Marc if you can. It costs $400 more for the transport, but at least you will actually get the car. My uncle picked up his truck in Cap last week, no problem.

Agreed. Use Monarch Shipping to Cap-Haitien. Avoid PaP until things calm down. The ‘road tax’ (bribes) to get the car out of the capital is more than the car is worth.
